For some reason Reuters seem to classify CRISPR as chemistry.

i would classify it as biochemistry, but I'm not sure where it would fit in the Nobel price classes: it's going to be either chemistry or medicine. Both are not a perfect fit.
There are so many new developments leading to potential singularities, with CRISPR we can very easily start editing genomes, start self modification, or unlock knowledge about genes at a much faster pace.

I genuinely do not understand why CRISPR and the like are not getting more press.
When I read of the request for an immediate moratorium on the human germline editing made possible by CRISPR, as technology was racing ahead of any kind of ethical consensus I realised how far my industry was from where the action was....

Trump of course has been nominated for the Peace Prize, like Rush Limbaugh before  him.
Donald J. Trump, businessman and candidate for the Republican Party's presidential primaries this year, is nominated for ‘his vigorous peace through strength ideology, used as a threat weapon of deterrence against radical Islam, ISIS, nuclear Iran and Communist China’ (confirmed by US nominator).

Looks like you can start your own "glow in the dark beer" lab for just $140

Do you remember this from a few years ago?

Scientists breed glow-in-the-dark rabbits - The Guardian August 13 2013

But not for frivolous purposes (interior design, e.g.); this is for more serious work.

"As part of an effort to improve treatments for life-threatening illnesses, a team of scientists have created rabbits that glow in the dark.
...
The rabbits glow to show that a genetic manipulation technique can work efficiently, though the specific color is more cosmetic than scientific. "The green is not important at all – it's just a marker to show the experiment can be done successfully," said University of Hawaii associate professor Stefan Moisyadi."

I wouldn't be surprised if that research was any statistically more valid than any other animal-based research. Just because it's actual crap.
Animal testing and experimentation is multimillion dollar business for animal suppliers and labs - get 10 dumb to the limits of retardation PhD students who will torture rats almost for free in your lab, cash in some grants, publish the rubbish you got with "reversing aging" in the title, and so on...
