They don't give Nobel Prizes for being Gamal's colleague.

One of my undergrad lecturers from TCD rented a house in Cambridge from Watson as a PhD student..

I vaguely remember that Rosalind Franklin discovered DNA, essentially.

So many things could be said at this point.

Photo 51 from Rosalind Franklin's Lab

Regarding Watson, if someone dim enough to hold views unscientific in so many ways manages to discover something, it could only be a 5 tone neon pink elephant who sat on his head and farted in his nose.

it seems the nobel committee didn't listen that carefully to bob dylan's lyrics before they gave him the nobel
Use of n-word in Bob Dylan song found not to breach NZ broadcast standards, BSA finds
so they gave him the nobel for using the n-word?

She seems worthy. Norwegian politicians (who make up the deciding committee) can be fickle, though.

Nobel in Physics where splitt in 2 parts, how many parts can they split the prize into?

the exoplanets guys likely deserved it, even if Democritus had predicted exoplanets 2500 years ago already, and they just used almost 2500 years to "prove" he was right.

Not far in time before Norway giving out the peace (comedy) prize either.

If they did, it would be no laughing matter.

Good choice in Tokarczuk, IMHO.  Double plus good result for Fitzcarraldo books, also.

I wish they'd have more Nobels for Literature. I read so much rubbish these days. The Nobels make it easy to know who to avoid. :)

I suppose that should be "whom" if we are talking literature.

Didier Queloz found the first exoplanet while he was a PhD student.
He was ashamed to tell his supervisor Michel Mayor about it as he thought the instruments were not well calibrated or a bug in the software. He waited weeks before telling him. He sent him a fax (Mayor was on sabatical in Hawaii) telling him he found a new planet. The answer: Yes, may be.

The duo got the physics Nobel prize.

Jocelyn Bell got less chance in 1974.  The prize went instead to her grad advisor, Anthony Hewish while she did all the work for the discovery of the first pulsar.
