Neil deGrasse Tyson investigated by Fox, NatGeo Networks
Renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson will be investigated by Fox and National Geographic Networks after allegations of sexual misconduct were leveled against him.
Patheos.com published accounts Thursday from two women who say that Tyson behaved in a sexually inappropriate manner with them. Tyson was host of “Cosmos” on Fox in 2014 and a new edition of the series was to air on National Geographic next year.
(snip)
Besides numerous TV appearances, Tyson is also the director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
this is actually 2 MORE women
from elsewhere
Two more women, including a fellow astronomer, say Neil deGrasse Tyson is guilty of inappropriate sexual conduct.
Dr. Katelyn N. Allers, Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Bucknell University, told me that she was “felt up” by Tyson at an after-party following a meeting of the American Astronomical Society (AAS) in 2009. AAS didn’t have a mechanism for reporting sexual harassment at the time, but Dr. Allers says she probably would report the incident if it had happened today.
(snip)
Dr. Allers didn’t feel like she was in danger during her encounter with Tyson, but she did describe it as “uncomfortable and creepy.” That interaction also made her think twice about allegations brought by Tchiya Amet, a musician who says Tyson raped her in his apartment when they were grad students together.
he plays himself on TV a lot, he's been in The Big Bang Theory for instance

Neil deGrasse Tyson responds
He explains that he didn't grope the woman, he merely put his hand under her clothing. Hard to see how someone could mistake that for groping

the justice department office of the inspector general just dropped a nice report
INVESTIGATIVE SUMMARY Findings of Misconduct by a Senior DOJ Official for Ethical Mis conduct,   Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, and Lack of Candor to the OIG
"Lack of Candor" seems to be a euphemism for when government employees lie under oath

It seems MeToo doesn't apply to the swamp
The OIG investigation substantiated that the senior DOJ official
(1) sexually harassed one subordinate when he pressured her into a sexual relationship with him in exchange for a promotion;
(2) sexually harassed another subordinate when he made repeated verbal sexual advances to her and ultimately sexually assaulted her;
and (3) sexually harassed two other subordinates by engaging in sexually inappropriate conduct toward them.
The OIG concluded that the senior DOJ official’s actions constituted ethical misconduct, sexual harassment, and sexual assault, all in violation of law, federal regulations, and DOJ policy.
He was making female subordinates have sex with him in exchange for performance evaluations and promotions. I guess one of them turned him down and he sexually assaulted her anyway

So he's going to jail, right?
Wrong, he's retiring with a pension
The OIG further found that the senior DOJ official lacked candor in his statements to the OIG.
Criminal prosecution of the senior DOJ official was declined.
The senior DOJ official retired from his position.
To sum it up, a senior DOJ official, whose name has been kept secret
- Sexually assaulted a woman,
- Forced another woman to have sex with him for a promotion,
- Lied about it to the Office of the Inspector General,
- Retired with full benefits

The swamp protects its own

Yes. Rich, powerful, friends in high places, might have had some sort of immunity deal, had experience of prison, some say he had Narcissistic Personality Disorder. All point to not being the suicidal type. (Although I am surprised more paedophiles don’t kill themselves.)

Unless it’s murder! A conspiracy!! Woohoo! Twitter is going to light up like a giant Norwegian Xmas tree!

State education in the US and UK:

"Now, children, I'm going to read you a scary story. Are you all excited? It's called 'The Prince, The President And The Pervert.' Once upon a time,...

"And that, children, is why you must all vote Democrat/Labour."

I read that he has a tattoo of the album. Can’t help feeling that weakens his case somewhat.

I’m sure if he just asked them politely for a donation he’d do better.

But it’s probably best to keep that album off your iPhone playlist.

So now I'm down to Julie Andrews. (Mind you, she was hot in Mary Poppins.)
