Re: trackstar's Needle Exchange

What else is happening these days?

Here are some plums I bought at a local farm/orchard yesterday - I have a whole bag of them and will make a plum tart this afternoon.

The little placemat is one of the latest completed items here.

And that's all she wrote; enjoy the fall, people. Cold nights here mean deep sleep and plenty of energy! : )

So, I am spending much less time online these days and much more time outside.

Where I am, you have to enjoy the fall weather and then wish for snow. My skis and snowshoes are ready to go!

But in the meantime, there is lots of day hiking to do and to encourage you folks - here are a few nice associations with lots of links and trail options.

For those in NY and New Jersey: New York New Jersey Trail Conference

Appalachian Mountain Club - NY-NJ Chapter

And for those in the UK: Cotswold Way Circular Walks

British Walking Federation

National Trails

Naturally there are other associations and also just going where you will without being "connected" to a particular group at all.  But i am a member of a couple of organizations now and I like the communities that I have found this way.

In any case, carry on with your maths, probabilities, C++++##!, Python, machine learning, Vico cycles, and Wilmottian theater.

But get out for some fresh air too!!

More people should study their Vico cycles. We are approaching the end of one of his cycles. So many people are lost.

Out in the countryside visiting farm stands in my elegant homemade mask.

Found pumpkins and...you-know-what! : D

What is funny - just started that book again yesterday, warming up for a tougher, longer book reading soon.

Just goes to show, you can be very aware that something does indeed exist/is quite possible, and you *still* don’t expect it.

Fantastic view! It brings to mind Henry Moore's garden.

I've been admiring a different kind of arts today. Tantric booby yogini and dog ;-) I've never seen the British Museum so empty.

Cool. Don’t forget the goddesses of the Harvest this time of year too.

Here was another recent adventure - forest and fields, ending at a quiet marsh.

I may start a WordPress artwork blog soon - Working title “1,000 Days of Solitude” a la G. G. Marquez.

Please, take back those words! I hope the Covid story will come to an end a lot faster. I want my normal life back. After such a long break it was so refreshing to visit a museum... and see a dog!

I am thankful to be healthy (seemingly, so far) and enjoying social distancing very much. : )

I am a natural at it. Hehe.

Another place I visited on my little countryside ramble today - a farmstead from the 1800s, with many gardens.

Have a good evening, W Forum.

Octopus

Trip to heave and ho
Up down, to and fro'
You have no word
Trip, trip to a dream dragon
Hide your wings in a ghost tower
Sails cackling at every plate we break
Cracked by scattered needles
The little minute gong coughs and clears his throat
Madam you see before you stand
Hey ho, never be still
The old original favorite grand
Grasshoppers green Herbarian band
And the tune they play is "In Us Confide"
So trip to heave and ho
Up down, to and fro'
You have no word

Please leave us here
Close our eyes to the octopus ride!

Isn't it good to be lost in the wood
Isn't it bad so quiet there, in the wood
Meant even less to me than I thought
With a honey plough of yellow prickly seeds
Clover honey pots and mystic shining feed
Well, the mad cat laughed
At the man on the border
Hey ho, huff the Talbot
"Cheat" he cried shouting kangaroo
It's true in their tree they cried.

- James Joyce

Hehe - well not actually - it was .... : D

Octopus - Syd Barrett

It actually dates back to the 90’s. A classic example of things you read on the Internet not necessarily being 100% accurate.

New horizons - I bought a tie dye colored kayak today and will name it Sugaree.

Sugaree- Grateful Dead Live at Hinterland 1974

great long mellow song

you may not see me around here for awhile, but rest assured, I am drifting out on some marsh under the deep blue skies of October. : )
