One of my favorite places in the world. 

But there's still no man with a bucket anywhere nearby - hehe.  That's fine though - I can build sand castles by myself for awhile longer. : )

The hydrangeas are lovely this time of year.  

I'd love to go for a little vacation this month - but I am watching local advisories and also the preferences of the year-round population for that location (and others like Newport as well).  

When they decide that they want visitors and have balanced the needs of the economy with the risks of the virus as they see fit, then I will happily take the ferry...

In Norway in the 70's the most popular weekly magazine was Donald Duck. A recurring character was Moby Duck, a whaler. No wonder I was confused.

It took me 45 years to finish! So I'll be avoiding whales for a while. (I once met one when out kayaking.)

I haven't read "The Golden Bowl." But if it's Lady Chat vs X then X has to be "The Go-Between." No contest. LPH with a knockout.

I never knew the old Donald Duck before the 80s. The new version was a complete change when Onkel $krue made his entry. Here cover of my 2000 edition. 
BTW I never had a chance to learn Norwegian because hotel staff came from DK  and Sverge for the yuge pay.

John Irving for the eastcoaster. For unknown reasons I was enchanted by his books when I was an early teenager and they build my vision of America and Europe in American's eyes. The World according to Garp is probably the most famous one, but Hotel New Hampshire was my favourite (I read them all).
