I am going on holiday tomorrow to London (for the umpteenth time). Can anyone give me suggestions for sightseeing that may never have crossed my mind? I have done madame tussaud's (at least five times), London aquarium, Greenwich, Kew Gardens, Tower of London, St Paul's... The usual National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, Tate Modern, Tate Britain (I have a sister in Art History...)Every year I see the same things. It's getting boring. Any suggestions?

Go to Waterloo - London eye/Millennium bridge/Dali exhibition.Also Covent Garden is good although you'll probably have been there already.

we're having a bit of a hot spell in London at the moment, temperatures predicted to mid 30's this week (that maybe doesn't sound that bad but London is so badly set up to deal with hot weather it can be pretty unpleasant).Why don't you check out some of the markets on the weekend, like Camden, Borough or Portobello. Or go and wander around Hampstead Heath, I was up there for the first time in ages the other day, really nice to wander around.

The Natural History museum and Science Museums are some of my preferred ones in London. If you haven't been there recently, it could be a very good visit.Also, I find the "Imperial Museum Of War" at Elephant and Castle very interesting (you can see a V2 missile with giroscope.... amazing for a Quant: an analogic computer for differential equations built sixty years ago, and it was - sadly - very precise too)...gc

Beware taking the train as well, they're so bad over here that there's a speed restriction on all trains at the moment cos they're worried the rails might buckle in this heat. Apparently the wrong kind of sun.....

When I'm in London, I spend the whole day walking from bookshop to bookshop in the West End. Foyle's requires many, many visits. Then I spend the night hopping from pub to pub, eating and drinking: too many really interesting ones to list. I also like to walk up and down the East End: I was an amateur Jack The Ripper "Scholar" many years ago, and I still like the place. I also like walking up and down the backstreets of Chelsea. There is something very mysterious about Chelsea. Or maybe just old memories.
