Wow, you would've thought it would be difficult to find a picture for an article that effectively represented "The French" and "Productivity".I guess if you're an experienced journalist or editor, you know how to use the power of a strong visual to compliment a story well.

QuotePeople work an average of 1,902 hours per year in the surveyed cities but they work much longer in Asian and Middle Eastern cities... People in Lyon and Paris, by contrast, spend the least amount of time at work according to the global comparison: 1,582 and 1,594 hours per year respectively. Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/are-the- ... 9ZtQj8What about the working hours of Greece & Spain and the percapita productivity, would that explain the crisis ?QuoteLOL I found the article overall very amusing, but the association with the picture is totally the best dbl !

When nappies are bought for 5RMB in China and sold for 5EUR in France, the French supermarket is credited with contributing (5EUR-5RMB) of created value to the GDP. Then the GDP is used to measure productivity... so those who have shed more jobs to sponsor the Chinese economy more appear more productive. The cost of laid-off nappies engineers and workers kept alive on food stamps appears in the State's debt, which ("hazzah") you might have heard about in some other articles..So it's a fallacy, but it doesn't matter because the only thing readers will remember in this paper is the picture. (PS: Governments the world over use GDP to show off their measure of success, so I suppose you can't blame the reporter too much for using it. I'd be interested to read a comparison of how the GDP numbers are gamed in different regions of the world..)

The number of working hour is meaningless. You can spent 100 hrs a week in your office but do nothing it would be less efficient than a 35 hrs a week full time job. And by the way a lot of french do unpaid extra hours (as me ). I'm not complaining cause I like my job but I'm quite enjoying the article . We are not so lazy Example our president works 14 hrs a day !! 14 hrs of bullcrap and mistakes but 14 hrs a day !! He should work less

They won't get out of bed to put out a cigarette, but rather wait for a house fire. The police won't chase a bank robber, but only a terrorist. They won't even move their mouths to swallow liquid unless it's wine.
