The Best of Europe

November 28th, 2011, 9:19 am

Some people around here like Michelin guides and a few of us may rely to a modest extent on Baedeckers, Fodors, or even National Geographic when we are traveling. With the diverse group that we have here in the OT though, let's come up with a "Best of Europe".Some categories could include big events:Best Jazz Festival is possibly Montreux, though Prague has quite a bit going on too.Best Film Festivals - Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Karlovy Vary...Best Horse Racing on Turf - Cheltenham, England, All of Ireland period.Best Horse Racing on Snow - St. MoritzBest Polo Matches - Guards Polo Club, EnglandBest Polo Matches on Snow - St. Moritz (Do you see a pattern here? Where do you think I might go on vacation this winter?) There can also be some dining categories:Best Champagne Brunch -Best Wild Game - exotic cuisine for special dining occasionsBest Tea and Scones...If only Wilfrid would return; his advice on T&S is impeccable.

You just call in advance to advise them of your needs and the workmen take care of reinforcing the bolts and ceiling for you.

You can even bring animals in with you! This dog is cute, but I think a Giant Ball Python would liven things up a bit on a honeymoon, for example. If I ever get married, I will rehearse a little wedding night routine with the snake for a few weeks before the big day!
