First Annual Wilmott Quiz Team Brownian Bridge Event (May 16-17, 2013)

October 21st, 2013, 7:47 pm

Just underscore for fulmerspot that spouses, girlfriends, significant others, child brides, and hounds are all welcome. We can also assert clearly that I do not tangle with any of the above; without exception, I keep a safe distance from complexity. In other notes, it is not a great distance across the pond, but people should not get huffy about those who could not make it last spring.Holding this event on the weekend of the Preakness Stakes is not optimal for 2014. High probability months (historically) for my trips to Europe: October, January, March, July.Low probability months: December, May, June, August into early September. Not to say impossible, though May and June are complicated and August in particular is highly unlikely, due to Saratoga, polo, and yacht racing schedules. Also, as you well know, most of Europe is on vacation in August, so booking anything on short notice can be tricky. We'll see though.

That's fine. I am just trying to address these recurring comments about people who weren't there.Europe is wonderful, but there are other places to be, especially related to certain sports schedules.

BTW - late June might be good next year, due to Wimbledon and Henley.

This Brownian Bridge thing should be fun, not full of expectations and disappointment.I am very tolerant of other peoples' schedules and changes that may arise on short notice. Some of us have Black Swans all around a fair amount of the time and we have learned to fly along with them.

It makes it a lot easier to anticipate, commit and block agendas, also for people with extemely busy agendas like TS Indeed! All this himming and hawing about dates

I would not want you to change the date just for me, but I also don't want to hear a lot of griping when I don't show up.There is a very high probability that I will go to all three Triple Crown races next year.Kentucky Derby - first Saturday in May, Churchill Downs, Louisville, KentuckyPreakness Stakes - third Saturday in May (always two weeks later from the Derby), Pimlico, MarylandBelmont Stakes - first or second Saturday in June (always three weeks later from the Preakness), Belmont, New YorkI went to the Kentucky Derby last year and it was fabulous. So indeed, my schedule for May and early June is already blocked in.I will watch for your news online though. No sniping please; I am merely conveying information, not trying to change the course of history.
