great movie

we have not had the W Awards for quite a few years.  It's a little time consuming, sorting things out, but it is pretty fun.  : )

Returning to veggies and their Latin names, here is what I just took out of the oven this evening:
parsnipsandpotatoes.JPG
Roasted parsnips with a brown sugar glaze and purple fingerling potatoes. They are nice around Halloween, unusual as they are!

I will not give their "true" names away, but I have leeks and Brussels sprouts too, fresh from the farm stand today & more cooking tomorrow.

Hope yesterday's onion cut is healing well - along with Vitamin D and Fish oil, I would say Vitamin E to the rescue. : )

BTW, Oslo vegans consider figs non-vegan.
This picture makes me believe them:

Hmm - those mouths seem to call out to me!

"Returning to veggies and their Latin names, ..."

I was at that all the time! The root in the first photo can be turned into sour and sweet mat, like the "cake" in the second photo.
BTW, they sell vegan Julekake in Backstube!

A few more for the quiz, hint: familia Solanaceae. : )
And I am heading out to more farm stands today - days getting shorter now, which means more cooking - stews, soups, and casseroles.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, everyone!
