QuoteOriginally posted by: Vanubis1Congratulations.So the game doesn't stop when you have a 2048 ?It says "you have won" but then gives you the option to "keep going" or "try again"I would think that a 4096 tile is possible if one is extremely careful (and a bit lucky) in managing the row or two where one is building a sequence of powers of two. I still don't understand the new tile generator in terms of when it creates a "2" vs. a "4". And I know that I made some mistakes in the winning game (e.g., collapsing tiles in the wrong direction or allowing two or three rows to get in a locked position which forced me to move my highest tiles away from the wall and created a stranded low tile in the midst of the high tile sequence).

The most compact precursor for 4096 might look like:___, 2 , 4 , 8128, 64, 32 , 16256,512,1024,2048That seems to have enough room for some maneuvering. You obvious did most of the hard work in getting to 512,1014,2048. The rest of the precursor is not that hard.I wonder what will happen to anyone who does get to 4096? Instant job offer from Google? Instant job offer from the NSA?

What is interesting is if the new tiles locations were controllable, then 131,072 could be reached.

It's a delicate balance between keeping a row pinned with 4 tiles (so it does not shift back and forth and get a "2" in the wrong location) and having the flexibility to shift things. My downfall is not noticing all the ways that the tiles can combine and making a move that creates an unintended pair-merge and puts a larger tile in the wrong place.

I woke up and realised I'd spent all night dreaming about 2048. I really need to do something else!
