### quantum computing and finance

Hi Folks;I've freshly finished a physics PhD and am wondering if someonecould point me in the direction of potential collaborators forquantum computing (my bag) and finance (not so much my bag).I have a fellowship with some liberty as to research directionsand I would like someone to work with who finds the topic stimulating. Experimentalists and theorists both welcome. Just PM me.

### quantum computing and finance

... 4 years later, someone answers.I believe quantum computing and financial engineering are a perfect marriage. I just wrote a blog post explaining why.

How much does a quantum computer cost these days?
My C++ Boost code gives

i've been reading on quantum computing recently. it's not even defined clearly. at the state it is now, you have to build an experiment. there are no parts to buy and assemble, no standards, nothing. you build some experiment and call it a quantum computer. quite vague. the sh.t expensive too, million $$deepvalue Posts: 918 Joined: April 25th, 2007, 6:08 am ### quantum computing and finance you want to discover a superconducting MBS that can tunnel through credit crunch into good times? trackstar Posts: 27805 Joined: August 28th, 2008, 1:53 pm ### quantum computing and finance QuoteOriginally posted by: deepvalueyou want to discover a superconducting MBS that can tunnel through credit crunch into good times?That would be pretty cool - what is the speed limit in the quantum tunnel? I would like to get to Good Times as soon as possible. However the words quantum and finance bring Belal E Baaquie to mind. However the words quantum and finance bring Belal E Baaquie to mind.that has nothing to do with quantum computing, trust me. that book has no information in it whatsoever.right now the only applications that may fit somehow into quantum computing is cryptography, imho. one has to formulate financial models as quantum system, then you can apply QC. check out Deutsch's paper, it's a good starting point. then you can follow the references, and find more leads, like groundbreaking Feynman's paper

Zeta all went a but quiet, but I'm pretty sure he did something along these lines for a little bit - so perhaps someone here did answer his post, but as an IM rather than on a forum board... Perhaps he now works at GS behind their scenes in Credit Risk management

### Re: quantum computing and finance

Hi friends. What is the state of quantum computing (I'm seeing the puns coming...) & finance as of today? Thank you.
