Get three boxes. Put your data into one, wrap it in brown paper and address it to your friend. Take the second box to the railway station in full view of everybody. Hire a locker and deposit the box.Take the third box to the woods. Ensure you are acting suspiciously, and attracting attention. Bury the box.Arrange for a few friends to go to the railway station and move boxes around between lockers.Arrange for a few friends to go to the woods and dig up and bury boxes.Go to the post office and post your parcel.

Can you shift the data through many intermediaries?Say post your encrypted file publicly on Facebook. All your friends download, post it on Twitter, email it to others, and also post it on their Facebooks and so on. Only one of your network actually needs it, and can access it through various methods.

what some people do is set up a hotmail etc account and save the messages as drafts, so the other person can log on and read the draft

You could look up some Soviet era spy techniques, like drop boxes etc, and see if there are suggestions on how to keep anonymity.

Store the data in plain sight. Create a large list of permanent, public, popular data sources. Break all that data down into blocks of length nRecord the start position of each block (i.e. a pointer). Keep finding public data until you can form a basis of building blocks from which you can create any data. Convert your data into pointers then publish that as a tracker file. So long as the length of your tracker file is less than the size of the data block then your tracker file will be smaller than the data. encode the tracker file in a similar way.Repeat until the tracker file is small enough. Real world analogy Create a list of words contained in popular books. Record the location Book w, page x line y word z.Publish your message as a sequence of w,x,y,z (encrypt if necessary)
