Good research and yes, confirms my suspicion that there is room for maneuvering here around the composition of the Fed and BoG and not to forget the Council of Economic Advisers.

If we look at the ages of the Supreme Court Justices, we may find a similar "opportunity".

List from "Green Papers"
If Trump wins, I suspect that RBG and Breyer will die in office, trying to hang on until a Democrat is back in the White House to name their replacements
Clarence Thomas was just about the only thing that Bush I got right

I remember long ago discussing
Dr. Greenspan's Amazing Invisible Thesis
which is kept under lock and key at NYU
(my thesis is available in the library of my alma mater, and I think also available on microfilm)
It seems someone actually managed to read Greenspan's (a faculty member had a copy)
Looking at Greenspan's Long-Lost Thesis
I was thinking he might have written in praise of gold, as he had long ago in Ayn Rand's newsletter
Gold and Economic Freedom, by Alan Greenspan
but it's actually about a housing bubble.
If he wrote his thesis on it, makes you kind of wonder how he missed the real one

I guess just doubling Scalia"s vote wouldn't have passed the textual interpretation of the constitution, so a surrogate was needed...

Which Supreme Court Justices Vote Together Most and Least Often
Scalia-Thomas at 91% pales in comparison with Kagan-Sotomayor (94%) and Kagan-RBG (93%)
it's pretty clear which team Kagan is on

Other than the Islamo-Christians, most people don't really care.

Although I may not enjoy softball, I see no reason to regulate others' enjoyment of softball.

Exactly! And if one joins the Islamo-Christian team, and wants to play Islamo-Christian ball, then one certainly lives within their rules.

But that does not imply the Islamo-Christians get to regulate how other people dress and act.

Let's drag this back on track:

Who wants to place a bet about the Fed raising the rates this fall?

Could be this week or November, or December.

Precise terms and delivery methods of any wagers please.

coincidentally, Reagan budget director David Stockman's book was on Drudge todaythere's a story on it at http://www.peakprosperity.com/podcast/8 ... eformation but it's saying unavailable at the moment try later"Reagan Budget Guru Declares: We've Been Lied To, Robbed and Misled..."
Stockman: Trump Is Going After The Fed
"I think it is pretty evident the elephant in the room of American politics is the Fed. The Fed has been killing Flyover America. Flyover America is that huge space between the two coasts.”
David Stockman went on to say that, “When the markets figure out there there is a new sheriff in town there is potentially a whole new regime that isn’t the Washington-Wall Street establishment… that has been running things for the last 25 years, I think there will be panic because there is nothing to hold this market up

from amazon
He shows that the Fed’s destructive ZIRP and QE policies have buried Flyover America in debt while clobbering it with shrinking real wages and vanishing job opportunities. At the same time, the bicoastal elites have prospered mightily from the massive inflation of financial assets in the Wall Street casino and the debt-fueled expansion of Imperial Washington’s domestic rackets and global interventions.
Stockman argues that Donald Trump’s improbable candidacy happened because Flyover America has had enough of a rigged system that benefits the few but has failed to delivery economic recovery and real prosperity at home and a safer and more stable world abroad.
Stockman’s book is no testimonial on behalf of Trump’s candidacy, and contends that much of what he advocates is wrong-headed or downright reprehensible. But it does salute him as the rallying force for Main Street political insurrection because the existing regime of Bubble Finance on Wall Street and statist aggrandizement in Washington threatens incalculable harm.
Stockman also argues that there remains a way forward. He suggests the “political outlaw” who considers himself to be the world’s greatest dealmaker would need to “make ten great deals” to bring American back from the brink. These include a Peace Deal, a Jobs Deal, a Sound Money Deal, a Super Glass-Steagall Deal, A Liberty Deal and five more.
