It looks like we found ourselves some "competition" (no worries, admittedly different goals) ;-)The IBM(R) InfoSphere(TM) Streams Financial Services ToolkitToolkit overview and organization looks intriguing:(our design (and, consequently, layers) are quite different, though).Incidentally, Options pricing analytics wrap a familiar library

... its a streamming API basically, which they've plugged into a pricing engine for marketing purposes. Their analitics suck but the underlying networking/streamming protocols are awesome. No competition whatsoever, different level. Btw, we have used it in an asset Mr I used to work for. Our goal here is more ambitious and less driven by commercial purposes, which ultimately is IBMs goal. I real dislike their biz model.

Interesting -- is the networking part somewhat comparable to the the ADAPTIVE Communication Environment (ACE)?// Incidentally, ACE is quite an impressive example of layered/modular services implementation (reference); hopefully we have a simpler project at hand, though :]

Apparently IBM's objective is to provide an integrated infrastructure system that can be used in production. They're good at building systems. I guess that's quite different from what qfcl is about...
