A pretty good headline today: “Lame duck pardons turkey”

• I was continuing to shrink, to become... what? The infinitesimal? What was I? Still a human being? Or was I the man of the future? If there were other bursts of radiation, other clouds drifting across seas and continents, would other beings follow me into this vast new world? So close — the infinitesimal and the infinite. But suddenly, I knew they were really the two ends of the same concept. The unbelievably small and the unbelievably vast eventually meet — like the closing of a gigantic circle. 

We can only hope that all the bizarre lawsuits, pardons of cronies, all time record Covid infections, and other scorched earth tactics employed by Trump may affect the Georgia runoff elections. Usually, the elections of senators have something to do with the quality and character of the candidates. In this case, not so much. In the 2021 Senate there will be Mitch’s bitches and others. If the number of “others” reach 50, we will have a functioning government, including a cabinet (which requires Senate approval). The most obvious way to get there is to capture both Georgia seats, implausible as that may seem. Most other approaches would involve one or more bitches from states with a Democratic governor retiring/resigning/dying and being replaced by an appointed successor. That’s a narrow path...

There is a certain feel good aspect to that story, knowing that the money came out of the pocket of Trump donors and was paid to a state that really needs it, and presumably mostly passed on to poll workers.
