While (almost) nobody is looking, Trump is carrying out a scorched earth strategy trying to destroy as much of the country as possible, since he won’t get to keep it. And I’m not even talking about the couple of hundred thousand Covid deaths we’re looking at between now and when we’re rid of the bastard.

A pretty good headline today: “Lame duck pardons turkey”

In his quest to see how far up Putin Trump can get his tongue, his destruction of the Open Skies program ranks pretty high. I’ll rate it at least an inch.

Somewhat more consequential today, lame duck pardons Flynn.

  • I was continuing to shrink, to become... what? The infinitesimal? What was I? Still a human being? Or was I the man of the future? If there were other bursts of radiation, other clouds drifting across seas and continents, would other beings follow me into this vast new world? So close — the infinitesimal and the infinite. But suddenly, I knew they were really the two ends of the same concept. The unbelievably small and the unbelievably vast eventually meet — like the closing of a gigantic circle.

We can only hope that all the bizarre lawsuits, pardons of cronies, all time record Covid infections, and other scorched earth tactics employed by Trump may affect the Georgia runoff elections. Usually, the elections of senators have something to do with the quality and character of the candidates. In this case, not so much. In the 2021 Senate there will be Mitch’s bitches and others. If the number of “others” reach 50, we will have a functioning government, including a cabinet (which requires Senate approval). The most obvious way to get there is to capture both Georgia seats, implausible as that may seem. Most other approaches would involve one or more bitches from states with a Democratic governor retiring/resigning/dying and being replaced by an appointed successor. That’s a narrow path...

Many of them are like headless chickens at the moment; there is some movement and random twitching on social media. But the mental processes that we normally ascribe to rational beings have ceased to function.

There is a certain feel good aspect to that story, knowing that the money came out of the pocket of Trump donors and was paid to a state that really needs it, and presumably mostly passed on to poll workers.

Yeah, there's one born every minute.
He'll need more $ for the upcoming NY State trials..

There is a window where he can collect some money by selling pardons to close associates. He’ll probably hit it like a bird.
