Re: General Election 2019

Prob. C majority 93%, majority of 89. (These numbers jumping about more than  I am comfortable with.)

Prob. L majority 0%. There just aren't enough decimal places in the world...

Re: General Election 2019

Will the last person to leave the Labour Party please take down the swastika banners and fold them away neatly. You are invoking Godwin's Law. Never a good sign. Looks as if you are getting a bit jittery? https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/495px_godwin.jpg Tony Curtis started it. (And yo...

Anybody not born in England will be thrown into the river. And if they float, they'll be burned at the stake.
A Nick Clegg quote if I'm not mistaken. You can absolutely trust anything he says.

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

Raise the Capital Gains tax, at least on the profits from the sale of shares of companies the taxpayer is an executive officer for. Would close the share buyback loophole. But not CGT on private businesses, I hope!  I once tried to explain to the BBC's Paul Lewis (Moneybox?) that CGT was a big disi...

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

Well, having been reasonably fully invested for the Obama rally I took some money off the table the day after the election. I added a little back in the day after Christmas last year, but am still in a fairly conservative spot. As for taxes, Trump runs a trillion dollar deficit in the tenth year of...

Re: General Election 2019

Just Wikipedia for polls. My prediction for seats. You and Martin Baxter are in an excellent agreement:  https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/homepage.html Great minds think alike! I did better than him in 2015. We both did badly in 2017. We have been comparing notes. He’s made his methodology more ...

Re: General Election 2019

Several new polls out. Con lead solidifying, for now.

90% chance C majority. With 363 seats. Labour on 210 seats.

Compared with this time in 2017, there is currently now much, much less volatility in polling numbers for Labour and Lib Dem.

The War of the Luvvies has started. Two open letters, from those for and against anti-semitism. Sorry, I mean Corbyn.

Re: Need Help: Vegetarian Recipes

It’s only the square ones that are the problem. Other American cheeses have come on a long way in the last few years. But why are some called “cheddar”? They haven’t been within several thousand miles of a walk along the beach at Weston-super-Mare.

Re: Need Help: Vegetarian Recipes

For branding purposes veggie burgers should be oval. To contrast with, and avoid mimicking, meat burgers. The square is reserved for American cheese made from recycled plastic.
