Re: UK and the EU: In or out?

Ex PM John Major is against this too. But he did it himself in 1997 to bury some sleaze allegations. John Major is against Brexit too. He is a hypocrite.

Re: Brexit - the last 50 days

Depends who gets the jobs. It will be great if they don’t go to Eastern Europeans like they did before Brexit.

Re: Is economics a science?

I admitted straight up that I'm not reading most of what you are writing. And I haven't read most of the latest. I have read enough to know that you also aren't reading what anyone is writing, or you are misunderstanding, deliberately or not I cannot tell. I am not reading because what you write isn...

Re: Your rants here

Could you date a person with vastly different political views from you? I don't think I could now. (Setting aside how my wife would feel about it.) Up until maybe mid Blair I could. Prior to that I often didn't know much about gfs' political leanings. Ditto friends. I had no clue about how they vote...

Re: Is economics a science?

“ but a number of prominent ones have made significant contributions to finance, including a certain Paul Wilmott... ” That’s right. It is also true for many rocket scientists, physicists, and so on. The finance sector pays well. But does it prove anything? I do not question their achievements in m...

Re: UK and the EU: In or out?

It works for the French because they are lazy. Brits aren’t good with leisure time, we’d turn to drink and fighting.

Of course we can’t do anything in the next 30 days. The French don’t get back from their holidays until October...2023.

Re: Brexit - the last 50 days

It can be a lot of fun! I once met four guys in their 50s (I think they were journalist, because one of them looked familiar) drinking in Craft Beer at Chancery Lane (I was alone waiting for ISayMoo and my sister). The guys had so much fun (and ale) that one poured his glass into the other's trouse...

You should ignore anything that contains the words “democratic” and “Junker” in the same universe, let alone the same paragraph!
