MSCF @ CMU, MFE @ Berkeley Admissions

Berkeley's 2002- 2003 class has an average of 5 years of work experience. I wouldn't apply there right out of college.

Broadening of skills ?

I would think that many areas of finance would be very interested in hiring a joint JD/MFE. And that could easily be done in under 4 years. You probably wouldn't use most of your training, but it would certainly make you employable.

Structurer

<t>Does anyone have any experience working as (or close with) a structurer in Fixed Income for an I-Bank? If possible, could someone explain specifically how a structurer fits into the picture? How does job pace and compensation compare with the other FI roles (trading, sales, research)? What kind o...

National Financial Mathematics Career Fair

<t>Alainniala,It sounds like there will be a lot of industry people there. I would guess that it would be helpful in finding an internship or at least getting good info. I'm sure we will hear more about it in September; I'm not going to register yet.I'm also looking for an internship and taking more...

Master in FE for people with backgroud in CS

<t>floatmoon,I would say that in an MFE program, finance is actually the least important prerequisite. If you are strong in math, stat, and cs, finance will come very easy to you. However that said, you should have a strong interest in finance and be able to show it on your applications.I am the com...

entry-level internship

<t>Goldmember,Yes I know, that's why I'm asking for advice. Anyway I don't think that I can get any job through the b-school since I have no experience. And as far as hedge funds are concerned, that is a long term career goal. I wasn't very clear but what I was asking is...1) In more structured recr...

<t>I am starting the MFE program at Michigan in the fall and I am already starting to think about internships for next summer, as recruiting starts shortly after the program starts. However my problem is that I am going into the program straight from college and I have no work experience. What level...
