Paper on the use of probability theory in finance?

Are there any topics other than options pricing?I have personally taken an actuarial exam that deals with options pricing(binomial, B-S, ito calculus, monte carlo, and brownian motion concepts). It appears that they use log-normal (and hence normal) distribution a lot.

Thank you so much for your reply. Yeah I am currently in the process of learning more about LDI and portfolio management theories. In July, I am going to write a research paper on LDI and its effectiveness in different settings (like countries, sectors, industries, regulations, etc).

So would you say that the LDI job market is not promising? I have strong interest in the field, because it involves both actuarial and investment ideas.
