after discovering that there is no solution to it(csa, your sys admin must have the "leave mail on server" option turned on), i have resorted to using GoToMyPC, a remote desktop access tool. thanks all.

hi paul,thanks for ur help.sadly, i dont understand french.i have seen nolan's paper, but he is actually integrating the funtion numerically.he also has precalculated values in a table, which you can use.i have a functin that uses FFTs to calculate the PDF's. let me know if you need it.

If i have 2 random variables X,Y drawn from stable distributions with different parameters. i.e., different characteristic functions, does the characteristic function of a variable X+Y, just the product of the characteristic functions of X, and Y(By the convulation theorem). Thnx.
