application programming in c/c++ is usually required. once you know c/c++, it won't be hard to learn java and perl ....

only because of the name "columbia". don't get me wrong, I am not saying columbia is better then NYU. it's just .... at least in my mind and most of my friend's mind .. "columbia" carries more weight ....

it is not hard. regarding math ... my BS and MS are both in CS. some high level math courses were core courses which I had to take in college.

I had many interviews from columbia's career development office. what I was saying was that although I felt good about all of them, I just never hear from them again after the interview. that gives me the frustration
