McGill or CMU for undergrad?

Both Canadian and US banks. The US banks mostly recruit at McGill for the US and London.

McGill or CMU for undergrad?

<t>I did my undergrad at McGill in Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Management. So I can tell you that both the Management and Engineering/CompSc schools are top notch. All the big names recruit there. You can always go to CMU afterwards for a postgrad degree. Plus Montreal is a very nice city...

Presidential Debates

Mike, Somehow, the fact that you think that it was a tie, when you're usually always so "black or white", leads me to thinking that it wasn't...

The amazing Ken Jennings

Rowdy, I think you need to change your little quote. Mike has picked the place, and you have no idea what time it is.

Volatility of Rolling Futures

Thanks for that. Mike, do you think that it's best to use returns then to calculate vol? Is it fundamentally correct to use this method for a product like the Bund?

Volatility of Rolling Futures

<t>Hi, Can anyone tell me what the best way is to obtain the volatility for a rolling future? For example, the Bund Future. How do you account for the expiration of the old future? I've thought about simply starting to calculate the vol of the next future 5 days or so before the front month one expi...

Bentley Competition

99,901 choices I think. I think someone will win and the winning number will be under 10.

Bentley Competition

<t>Did you guys see the ad in the Metro about the competition next week in the Evening Standard? Basically, you have to pick a number between 1 and 1000 with increments of 0.01 allowed. The lowest unique bid wins a new Bentley worth 110K. It looks like a mix of optimization and game theory to me but ...

Anti-semitism in EU

<t>Here's a quote from the article:"Colonel Baluyevsky gave few details of the new missile which was tested on Wednesday, but said it was one that moved five times the speed of SOUND."As in your other posts, you always comment without knowing what you're talking about. As for your other comment abou...

Masters

<t>I did the LSE MSc Risk Management. If you definitely want to go into trading or quant stuff it might be better to do the MSc Accouting and Finance or Finance and Ecomics. The Risk one has non quantitative courses that you have to take. On the other hand, it will allow you to apply for consulting ...

Roulette Arbitrage

<t>The behaviour of any of the players will influence the outcome. This will be even more obvious in casinos where the dealer only deals himself one card before giving the other players all the cards they need. However, the reason people often complain at the last player is because his choice "direc...

Working In MiddleEast

<t>I lived in Bahrain for 10 years. It's nice for families but boring for young people. Alcohol is allowed though, unlike in some other countries, and there is a somewhat developped expat scene...In terms of experience, it's not the best for going back to Europe or US but you can develop much faster...
