Agree with DCFC on the channel islands - I remember a partner at one of the pro services companies over there telling me they were handicapped by legislation saying they had to employ a certain number of locals - the gene pool isn't very big over there.

V useful for high frequency trading, which drives ticket prices down which in turn means banks can go after more market share...seems that way in equities at least.

Does anyone have any views on systematic funds in Europe - I'm looking at the overall market for a US fund that wants to break in; we're concentrating on Aspect, DPFM, CQS, Ikos, Modal, Bluecrest etc. Can anyone suggest any others that have done particularly well? Both equity and FI.

The role at SG sounds good but I guess would be in Paris....CSFB is the safest bet.
