Physics or Finance?

<t>Thanks again for the input. I have a lot to sort out in my skull but not much time. As for the kind of physics I'm interested in, I'm interested in quantum field theory. Funnily enough, one of you guys mentioned computational physics - what's wrong with computational physics? I LIKE it. It's prob...

Physics or Finance?

<t>Thanks for your input. Making a choice is proving exceedingly difficult. I just somehow feel that by doing a physics PhD I am leaving myself with more options at the end of the day. Also, the danger (for me at least) in committing to a PhD in finance is that I may not be able to get a job as a qu...

Cambridge Tripos, part 3

Hi player,Just to let you know, yes I did already do an MSc but it was quite a poor one. Spent most of my time in the computer laboratory surfing the net. Seemed like a good idea at the time though.

Cambridge Tripos, part 3

Thanks for those responses. What about an MSc by research as a platform for a PhD? Would there be a disadvantage in not having taken any graduate level courses?

Cambridge Tripos, part 3

Hi,Sorry if the answer to this is a little obvious but would good results in part 3 of the Cambridge Tripos provide just as good a platform for PhD applications as an MSc? Thanks. I ask because I believe the fees may be more within my reach than some of the (very) expensive London options.

Bond Pricing Question

Hi,I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me if this is correct when it comes to the callable bond, that when the valuation date is equal to the end date then the price of the callable equals the strike. Thanks.callable = reference - call option = reference - max(reference-K,0) = K ?
