HF Valuations

Hi,Can anyone direct me to a "public" -- i.e. free -- resource which shows hedge fund transactions and their valuation metrics? Or if you have any experience in this area could you share some of average ranges here? I am trying to value a partnership interest. Thanks,Sam

The Future of QF in India?

<t>A bit off the original topic but...At the very least, I would expect salaries to become more competitive. It's not hard to envision importing people with good technical skills from developing countries to do the same work for lower wages -- not necessarily slave wages. This is what happened in Si...

Easy money?? Dutch Tender offer this Month, comments?

The tender was amended to remove the odd lot priority. I guess everyone and their brother was shooting at this one...I would have been.

Masters Degree But Prop Trading Shop ???

<t>Just to be clear, we are talking prop shop here and not hedge fund right? I am answering for prop vs institutional. Unless this prop shop is going to teach him how to trade successfully -- and they're not -- I don't see much value in being there. In fact, it will most likely dilute the current va...

PIK Bond ?

<t><<Another thought is that a bond that goes PIK from it's original terms is likely to have much higher default risk>>The case I was referring to is when a normal coupon paying bond goes PIK as a result of the inability to meet the interest payments but as a way of avoiding a default. It is one of ...

Crabel Capital Research for Toby Crabel

<t>Yes,Tony Crabel is a CTA who runs $1B. You can see his fund's assets and returns on most of the hedge fund reporting sites. As to Romania, I don't see why not -- but don't know for certain. Eastern Europe has lots of very smart people who don't earn nearly as much money doing technical work in the...

"Split Strike Conversion" - How does it work?

<t>Hi,Just browsing through stuff here and I came across this thread. It touched on a recent conversation about pricing which left me slightly puzzled. I am fairly certain that more experienced people can set me straight. In practice, are zero cost collars for real? I have seen a number of funds adv...
