<t>flank,There is no point to deduce your own theory about how the world works. You do what you think is right to do and best of luck to you.P.S. I have checked with Wharton about your *fact* that PhD students there have to sign 5 years teaching or research agreement ----- are you curious of what th...

<t>QuoteOriginally posted by: ra008I was recently interviewed by a HF. The senior quants who interviewed me were all 40+. And they comprise the entire quant team now there. <t>flank.......Does angry at me help? If you already have strong opinion on this issue, what is the point of seeking secondary opinion? To echo your preoccupied mind that IBs do consider your school on par with "haaaahhhh-vuhhhd (harvard)"?Before you mad at me or are skeptical, maybe you should chec...

<t>It is all about how we look at new PhD rather than theoretically how we should look at new PhD. There is no point to lecture me how the world should work as at least we are inside the loop and working. We simply do not have the time to look into your thesis or call your professor to know how brig...

<t>QuoteOriginally posted by: flankYea this response is suspicious. Why can't we know which "large IB" recruits only from top universities? Furthermore, assuming that what you say is true, how many of these graduates from top universities are graduating with ph.ds and not just masters in QF? My expe...

<t>As a quant in big IB, the only thing I can tell you is that 90% of the quants in my company are coming from famous school and 50% from finest schools in the world. We of course will not tell you that you are a sure rejection but we will have strong bias to top schools. The reason is very simple. ...
