Look at TethysTech's Execta platform. A lot of brokers and funds are using them and the beauty of this thing is that you can customize this thing to attempt any kind of benchmark.

Beauchamp Finacial Technology

If you are planning to use Beauchamp for any kind of real-time tasks (trading risk management needs etc.) , it is not the right solution. But for back/ mid office tasks it should fulfill your needs.

Excel and VBA are just not the right sort of platforms for this sort of thing. They are are other tolls (more expensive than MS ExceL though) that you might want to consider.

Sophisticated Equity Monitoring Software

Look at Tethystech's Execta platform, does a lot more then just monitoring though. Excel is unfortunately not very reliable as a lot of us have found (some particularly the hard way).
