well the faculty thing is just a matter of opinion... Emmanuel derman did his undergrad at the university of capetown, espen haug did his phd at a norwegian uni, taleb went to a french uni. These people did not aquire prestige from their unis. I was thinking along those lines.

LSE or Warwick?

I was impressed with the warwick openday and they place a good number of students to do a dissertation with a city firm, who then go on to join them full-time in most cases. By contrast Imperial MFE have a similar placement rate but I'm not sure for the Applied math course though.
