what is so wrong with smoking in the US?

<t>Everybody understands smoking is bad for health, it's a proven thing, and I'm not American as you correctly deduced, PaperCut. It was just stunning to me (Russian) to see how smoking/not smoking is SO important. All that talking about how he committed to quitting and then could not make it (he ad...

what is so wrong with smoking in the US?

<t>I came across a few articles about how bad it is that Obama smoked and did not quit completely or something like that. That's ridiculous. Why would one care? And what's stunning is how it is actually considered to be a big deal in the US (smoking or not smoking). Isn't it a similar choice of a li...

Is it possible to interview for UK jobs in the US?

<t>I was wondering if it is possible to apply/interview for London-based quant jobs not leaving the US (since I'd have to get a new US visa stamp if I leave the US, and it might take a couple of month) or is it a must to have interviews in London for London-based jobs?. Any advice or previous experi...

Which HH's to trust?

<t>I finished my Physics PhD in December and just started looking for quant finance jobs - starting with posting my resume on quantfinancejobs, next morning I got a call at 7 (!) am EST when I was still happily asleep enjoying my unemployment vacation from a SelbyJennings HH. Is it a normal speed of...

Satisfaction from finance

Satisfaction from finance

<t>Hi all,One of the thoughts, which bothered me recently is - suppose you're a trader or a quant or whatever position you hold in the world of finance - what is the product of your work you actually get your salary (very high compared to other jobs) for? What I mean is - suppose you work as a janito...

lemma, the object CAN and WILL travel down the incline, since at t=0 the only force along the incline is the component of gravity mg*sin(A) and the force of friction mu*mg*cos(A) is NOT along the incline, but perpendicular to it in the plane.
