RIP Andy Griffith

He insisted that a sitcom's jokes shouldn't be mean-spirited or at someone's expense, that the dialogue not be one inane crack after another, and that the quiet poignancy of certain moments should override the laugh track. Rest happy, Mr. Griffith.
