Recruiter Question

<t>@Hansi - thank you for the reply. Just to clarify, I've found the posting also on the company's career site, which has the disclaimer note. So, the role is legitimate from what I can tell.@Marco, that makes sense if it's just to filter out the amount of spam. Now I wonder if there's even any use ...

Calibrating Expectations

Thank you liam and EA. Going to take a week off in the cottage county with a few friends. Hopefully that'll ease off the stress. My parents have been every supportive as of now, although I can see this changing a few month down the road. Thanks for the heads up.

Calibrating Expectations

<t>Thank you for the comforting advice. Being able to share my thoughts and organize it in writing has already been very benefiting. In terms of the potential trading job, I'm beginning to view it as a side venture, definitely not holding my breath for.A side question, I'm browsing posting boards su...

Calibrating Expectations

<t>@EscapeArtist999:Thanks EA999, my apprehension trickles down from the fear of being pigeonholed with the first job. Having rejected several other opportunities for this potential full-time trading only bolsters my high job expectations.I understand the applications of math/compsci/stat are widesp...

Interview Sales & Trading / Markets

<t>I'm double majoring in cs and business. From what I've seen, don't think the questions were dependent on my background. I got the feeling that the interviewers didn't even take a close look at my resume, cause when I mentioned my job experiences, they were surprised that I had interned at the sam...

Interview Sales & Trading / Markets

<t>Just came back from a S&T interview for one of the Big 5 Canadian banks. Hear me out as a sample point. My interview was mostly based on the markets and fiscal movements, with technical questions mixed in (ie: Operational Twist and FED conferences). Although I did not have any brain teasers n...

What piece of advice you wish your 22 years old self knew/followed?

<t>I’m someone who’s in a similar background as you, in terms of age and education. Like kim333 has said, it is true that majority of 22 years olds don’t know where they want to be in 10 years. But they are the people who are just a clog in the system. You need to have a foresight of at least 10 yea...

Does anyone hear about U of Waterloo?

Although that I think UW is not as renown as its American counterparts and its value is frequently underrated. Even with all the bias aside, I still wouldn’t have chosen UW over Stanford, unless you want to tackle the Canadian market instead.
