I'm trying to figure out whether the Novax gate is relevant from my home country's perspective.
They signed a contract to purchase Mistral anti-aircraft missiles and launchers a couple of years ago.

Re: RIP thread

I’m pretty sure it’s Siegel. Aside from that, definitely a mess, but maybe not so tragic. One of those “what comes around goes around” stories. Sadly, no Trump shared in this particular journey to the Netherworld.

Re: The vaccines

No way! I just bought skøyting skis and had my first ride a couple of days ago. 15 km in 2,5 h! (What I now do in 1,5h in classic skis). On the final uphills I moved like Quasimodo. I should recover enough for the next ride by tomorrow! No climate warming until I get bored of skiing, please :-D You...

Re: Positive wilmotting

My cat jumped outside when I was taking a delivery early morning. I would follow my cats into a fire as they say ;-D (She climbed on me because her paws got cold.) Those look like cold paws! I was brought up with a strong belief in cold feet leading directly to a sore throat, with plenty of empiric...

It does seem hard to avoid quadratic time complexity here. But I don’t really know anything about such matters.

Golden Apple Apple Becomes 1st Company Worth $3 Trillion - Forbes January 3 2022 That is more than the GDP of the UK! apple.jpg That’s an awkward mix of stock and flow, but definitely a big number. Since I have a household full of Apple products, I guess I should feel proud or overcharged, or somet...

No Denmark in stats? Looking at numbers, Denmark had around 500-ish COVID deaths per million as of the 22 June 2021 date of measurement for the study, and 14% Vitamin D deficiency in "either spring and or/autumn; however, many had a spring concentration below 50 nmol/L" https://www.ncbi.n...

Re: The vaccines

I think that is a fair assessment. Norway had a nasty December omicron spike but, unless holiday counting problems are at work, that’s coming down fast. Of course, as somebody said about requirements for social distancing: I sure wish we can get away from this one meter thing and return to the norma...

Re: The vaccines

Well, as you probably know, “USA” does not recognize the idea of a Covid pass. Certain states do, but their rules vary. Regardless, Republicans are rabidly against any such notion, since that’s like having to identify themselves to the government, like in nazi Germany. And they have guns, so should ...

Re: The vaccines

The bleading head governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, who has vigorously fought against anti-Covid measures that infringe the “freedom” of his minions, is now begging the federal government for help to fight the disease that is totally overwhelming his state. This calls for the Nancy Reagan reply.
