Re: Bad things that come out of this pandemic

muggsoppgift == mosquito repellant?

Re: Financial Modeling/Visual Basic Course Recommendation

That is sound advice and while I’m actually generally pretty positive on VBA, I’d suggest looking into Julia, in particular this course (well, technically, book): https://leanpub.com/julia-for-beginners

Re: Bad things that come out of this pandemic

New York has a proper vaccination certificate app. But we’re an outlier. And I imagine spoofing a dating site wouldn’t be too hard.

Re: Are you ready for POST BREXIT?

Yes, I do think this comes down to a lack of empathy. Frosty (sorry, I suppose that should read Baron Frost) probably enjoyed very good relations with the euros until the negotiations got tough. Since then, not so much.

Re: What is Borisism?

I’ve been looking around the household and, not counting family pictures, the closest thing I can find to a portrait is a rather dramatic image of Annie Leibovitz perched on a (hood ornament) gargoyle extending from the Chrysler building.

Re: OAS for HY bonds

I think the answer is the same as it was back then - it depends. Obviously, HY credit analysts will expend a lot of energy on trying to gauge the default probability and recovery potential, even if they don’t necessarily phrase it as such. Traders tend to focus a lot more on the OAS (however defined...

Re: Random Republican WINGNUTS (or RRWs as they are affectionately known as)

There is probably nothing wrong with the Republican Party that vigorous application of the 2nd amendment can’t cure.

Re: Philosophy of Mathematics

As a layman, I’ll offer the explanation that the likely source of your confusion about these Swedish magnetohydrodynamic waves is that they represent physics, merely cloaked in the guise of mathematics.

Re: on running code today at a specific time

I’d probably use scheduled tasks (Windows) or cron (Linux). I don’t think you want to do it inside your code. But I’m not an expert.

Re: hey sugar dads

I would not for a moment categorize prostitution in general as “an easy way to gain income”, although that grey area between opportunistic dating and playing the role of a well kept sugar baby doesn’t look too hard from a distance. Please note, I have only observed this from a distance, if at all. A...

Bagpipes and barbecues: incentives abound to lure staff back to the office I don’t sense much interest in going back to the office among people I work with. I can’t help the feeling that many have developed certain habits and preferences over the last fifteen months, ranging from dog walking to aft...

Re: How should we deal with the coronavirus pandemic?

Do you know if the cause of the relative vitamin D deficiency in non-Western immigrants is genetic, behavioral and/or diet related? I dont know, but very likely a mix of these. More protected agains UVB as genetically from areas with much more sun exposure (warmer so show more skin etc.), and there...
