Re: Global Warming - What We Can Do (Mitigation)

In another couple of years all the old Extinction Rebellion protesters will have died. (Am I doing this right?)

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

Am sure he is bright. He's just not all there. I remember saying to some Leftie friends of mine (typical of the type, very, very rich, one a judge, the other worked for the BBC) before the Labour leadership that I hoped EM would win because he would be unelectable as PM. That worked out nicely.  But...

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

I met a bacon sandwich-eating politician, possibly the same one, for all of five seconds. It was more than enough time to tell that he was missing that part of the brain used for interacting with humans. Maybe that part is next to the part that eats bacon sandwiches? I am sure he was decent. Just re...

To all of us who were bad at English at school finally we know what a pronoun is.

Re: What is democracy?

I can only make sense of the left's belief that the BBC is right wing in one way: Left = "There is only one right opinion. And it is mine." Right = "Everyone has their own opinion. I just disagree with yours." That is the only way that for example I can reconcile the evidence of BBC Question Time ha...

Re: Why is Bellman Equation solved by backwards?

At last, an actual equation! Going the wrong direction in time is an ill-posed problem. You cannot tell the original distribution of smoke in a room. Try it. Write a short diffusion equation finite difference solver and experiment with changing the sign of diffusion. Thank you, JohnLeM, this thread ...
