Re: I don't understand The Telegraph

I remember my first set of false nails, and the color I painted them. Jokers Wild it was called. I can’t remember the brand. My next was Damson Crush, Revlon I think. But I never used false nails after that one time. My favorite for a long time was Jealous Jade. I only paint my nails rarely these da...

Re: Boris Johnson - the last 100 days

Why do so many books from the last decade take the form of alternating chapters from different points of view? Alice Julie Daniel Alice Julie ... Usually going back and forth through time. Often with large chunks in italic (that would be some as yet unnamed character). And we have to wait until near...

I don’t know. Why does it affect some people and not others? Start by treating the symptoms. Cold showers, bed rest. Re: I don't understand The Telegraph

How dare people make money? And run businesses. That employ people who also make money? I give 110% of my income to good causes. (Please, pretty please, will people like me now?)

Re: Boris Johnson - the last 100 days

I don’t have a position on dual-citizenship authors. I recently unpacked boxes of books, putting them on shelves alphabetically by author. I misjudged the number of books per letter. Rather than go through the trouble of moving them around I’ve decided it’s easier to buy books by authors with surna...

Ok, I'll bite ;) Fiction 95% <400 pages 80% Alternating 'literature/classics' with easy-read No 'literature' from this century Otherwise no preference for any century English language only, although translations acceptable I have learned to avoid Russians  the hard way  (also tend to avoid South Ame...

Brexit Derangement Syndrome, Trump Derangement Syndrome (bearish has a bad case of the latter, and is showing signs of the former),... The interesting question for me is will history come to call this period "The Decade of Mass Hysteria," or will it run to a full century? It's a pity you haven't re...
