continued abuse at gitmo

>> I guess I'm confused - weren't the detainees captured in the battle field shooting at us? in a war time situation (trial?).... So - you think they are prisoners of war? in which case the Geneva Convention applies.

>> Didn't they attempt to kill us? Why should we be nice to them? Did they? Good to know - can you point to a trial? or evidence against the specific detainees?

Theoretical Biology

<t>>> suppose my question is how does the probability of the evolution of the eye compare to other organs in the human body. If it is significantly (in the scientific sense) less that might support ID - no? The eye is a complicated thing. But is it really any more complicated than the ear - with it'...

Theoretical Biology

<t>>> I think the evolution of the eye might be worth bringing up here. To the best of my (limited) knowledge of the subject, isn't the probability of the eye developing the way it did significantly smaller than other probabilities in the evolution process? Dawkins talks about this at length in his ...

Cambridge vs LSE - please, please help!!!!!

Remember that the big posh US business schools are really famous for their MBA's not their PHD programmes. You really have to ask yourself would you be any better off with one of them than LSE (which is by no means a small name!).PhD with funding from a top top school. Hard to turn down.

Police version of tube shooting challenged

<t>I have to say that it always worries me when I see police carrying thise sub machine gun things at the airport and railway stations. For me machine gun implies spraying lots and lots of bullets around in, at best, a semi controlled fashion - and that's not such a good thought.Personally I'd like ...

Iranian nuclear reactor will be knocked out during this year

<t>>> This will not be the first or the last time a vicious anti-Semite has called a Jew evil. No - but lets not cloud the issue with that one. There are plenty of evil Jews who have called "anti-Semitism" when their actions have correctly been identified as evil. It's a fallacy based on deliberate ...

<t>>> Someone in my class made a cruel comment about Durham recently and I hope it's not true. He said it's where all the Oxbridge rejects go. I thought that was a bit harsh, is this the general perception of the place?Absolutely true. Look at their wikipedia page where they constantly play up the "...
