Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

I wouldn't worry too much about this. It would also need to pass the House and be signed by President Trump
It's a clear sign: Trump lost this.
Trump can veto, and then the courts can overrule that.

Re: Health hazard of digital sound

Re: what did the painter do wrong?

It must be an experiment on the students. What was the painter trying to accomplish by introducing a deliberate error in a place full of scientists and which would put them in jail if they ever thought about correcting it?  https://41.media.tumblr.com/cf5eef27de49bff410f2f8de5d4a31df/tumblr_inline_n...

Re: what did the painter do wrong?

Can you take another picture a little bit more to the left?  The bar is occluding the bit between 1/2 and sqrt(pi). The continued fraction is wrong, in many ways! I bet it should be an infinite fraction or else the answer can never be rational number. If it was infinite then the answer would be "1+g...

Re: Running free

Nice!  So have a friend coast on a bicycle next to you with a iPhone while you run to get video of your running form.  Some of the better smartphones have high frame rate video.  At a 120 fps, you'll get about 40 frames per step. Exactly! Or position yourself in the middle of a fields with a cool g...

Re: I need a tattoo to make myself taller.

Ah.. you're thinking ahead! ..smart! People should do that more often! :-) One of my favourite plots is the bifurcation diagram of the Logistic map, the Feigenbaum constant is in there. If I recall correctly T4A used to have business card with that diagram on it? It also has a Breaking Bad feeling t...

There isn’t anyone who names their kid Kelvin." Why not? If I had children I would consider it.  In fact, if I had three children, let's say a boy and two girls, or even two boys and one girl, I might name them Kelvin, Farrah, and Celcy. Indeed! She had never heard of it... Inconceivable! If I had ...

Re: Running free

Effective stride is a function of biomechanics with the legs being double-pendulums.  Efficient long-distance running requiring tuning for the natural frequencies of these pendulums.  (Sprinting expends a lot of energy moving the legs forward quickly to take the next stride.  As running distance in...

Re: Running free

BTW, I'm working on my stride. I believe my strides are way too small. Is there some kind of rule of thumb to calculate the most effective stride given runner (legs) size, speed, pace, distance, etc... ?  Merci! Effective stride is a function of biomechanics with the legs being double-pendulums.  E...

BTW, BBG helpdesk told me their API also works with Python3
That makes sense!
BTW, .. a friend of mine optimized BB data collection  (don't download the same things repeatedly) and ended up saving the company a couple of 100k per year!

If you want to stick with python then you can manage and deploy your algos with flask -a popular framework to build python webservices http://flask.pocoo.org/ -, then run them as services via any of the popular webservers or standalone http://flask.pocoo.org/docs/0.12/deploying/ Linking thinks betwe...

Re: Habemus codex et ordenadum

Yes sqlalchemy is a popular package, used a lot also.. With functionality I mean: what's wrong with a bunch of CSV files? In general any choice of SQL database (except sqllite) probably offers all you need: access control, indices to speed things up, views, triggers, interfaces to lots of tools and ...
