But goldfish, what if other job pay 35% more but u don't wanna leave because u like u're current job better even at lower pay. Shouldn't u tell u'r boss about the higher salary so he knows your market value?

Suppose a quant gets another job offer from a bank down the street. But the quant doesn't plan to take it. Should he go and tell his current boss about his offer and risk pissing him off that he was out interviewing behind his back?
