Re: I don't understand The Telegraph

Definitely not with "my" nails. I can't understand why men like them... But then again, men are strange.

Re: If you are bored with Deep Networks

Thanks. I can't see from the abstract what it has to do with dynamic programming, but I'll try to read the whole text.

Re: Boris Johnson - the last 100 days

It was actually a "fake" quote. She replaced "man" with "pig" in "Man serves the interests of no creature except himself."

Re: Boris Johnson - the last 100 days

I'm from almost all ethnic minorities at the same time and I'm pro-brexit :-) I saw a woman holding a poster quoting Orwell and comparing Bojo to a pig (as a vegan I'm ideologically against pejorative animal epithets). She had a strong French accent and gave a convinced speech that the UK will colla...

Re: If you are bored with Deep Networks

For million of interacting agents? Where can I read up on it if it really is possible? My knowledge in this field is obviously miniscule compared to yours, but something tells me you'll soon be doing what I currently do - Bayesian optimisation :-)

Re: I don't understand The Telegraph

Seriously, I paint my nails with strengthening varnish regularly. It costs me circa £10 per year and steals just a few minutes a week. Her nails must be done by a professional manicurist. I was passing by a salon yesterday, had time and decided to spoil myself a bit (and sooth my curiosity). I was f...

Re: If you are bored with Deep Networks

In RL, not far imho. A Frenchie CS guy came to our conference this year (regular participants are statisticians, gov advisers, business people of all breads). He proposed a new revolutionary framework for modelling socio-ecological systems based on RL. After the presentation the only comment was dud...

Re: I don't understand The Telegraph

That's very true. Socio-economic inequalities have gone mad in the UK, e.g. my petsitter wears nails more expensive than me! We should be more like Norway.

Re: If you are bored with Deep Networks

Understanding ML requires a solid knowledge of mathematics. The theory behind the RBF kernels, for example, involves functional analysis and infinitely dimensional Hilbert spaces. And that's just for Deep Learning. Can you tell how many concepts from different disciplines one must know to understan...
