Re: Python tricks

Python stores multidimensional arrays in row-major order, so your V indexing produces a lot of costly jumps, you can't fetch and keep the whole chunk in L1 cache, etc. - just trying to imagine what happens, I may be wrong. Re: Bad things that come out of this pandemic

My attitude to sex is not religiously motivated - it's just the way I'm wired ;-)
I understand that delegalisation in the name of feminist ideals would cost the industry victims safety and more deaths. I'd rather see brothels providing men for women - let's make it equal that way.

Re: Linkedin me up Scotty!

I'm sure there's a separate category in the International Classification of Diseases for those who reached for the top shelves. Possibly scoring higher than paragliding.

Re: Linkedin me up Scotty!

It would be difficult to drive in the full equipment, indeed. I considered using another selfie, which I took while paragliding, but I came out a bit suicidal in it. A library. That's extreme. The library of the oldest operating university in the world, University of Al-Quarawiyyin in African Fez, f...

Re: Random quotes

Stanislaw Lem for Der Spiegel, getau...

You look very young in your profile photo. Try using a photo in a driving gear like mine ;-)

Re: A Music Game II for 2009

Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Scar Tissue was their first song I heard. My colleagues dismissed them - they claimed RHCP betrayed their old style for money and the lyrics were gobbledygook... I think the lyrics are quite metaphysical (the frontman's long hair might have influenced my opinion, though) :-) ...

Re: Classical music threat...

The weather reminded me of: Vivaldi "Summer", the 3rd movement (wind, storm and thunders) I rarely like such expressive artists, especially for subtle Baroque emotions, but when it comes to Four Seasons, it's only Nigel Kennedy. I saw him in Poland on several (sometimes unexpected) occasions. I coul...

Re: trackstar's Needle Exchange

My Finnish bf showed me a photo of himself sitting in the ice hole in a snowy lake, looking very content. Allegedly that's nothing to show off with in Finland. I stopped myself from asking if he was drunk :-) Definitely not my element I trust he was carefully managing the blood content of his vodka...

Re: trackstar's Needle Exchange

"Wish you happiness with new bf - creativity and fresh perspectives on life! This weekend here: painting and making some new quilts/wall hangings. And cooking! : )" No, no, it's just a good real life friend (girl/boyfriend as opposed to 500+ "friends" from social media). Zero chemistry, or physics a...

Re: Stupid question of the day

Sorry, I forgot the names of characters from The Muppet Show :-) My question: why do I gradually lose taste for red wine? I could douse half a bottle years ago, then my tolerance shrunk to a glass, next just a half, and today I can only sip it once, still with pleasure, but I wouldn't be able to fo...
