Some music to augment your VR - ER. ; )

Ancient Music for the Irish Harp - Derek Bell

I'm off to a concert tonight. There will be a selection of red wines, a wide array of chocolate desserts, and the dulcet tones of Celtic harps.

Re: Sexism in the city

Like many similar events, the Academy awards are an endless, American-centric, self congratulation machine. That's why the indie festivals are much more interesting. In the years when I was focusing on the film industry, I went to Sundance three times and saw a wide range of films with diverse persp...

Nantucket Film Festival, LOL www.youtube.com/watch?v=loSZU_VVMic Laugh if you want - that is a very cool island festival!! Also, just to be clear, naturally I sympathize with the women of MeToo, but I was able to avoid it myself. Exit stage left! And if in doubt about a meeting or location, keep a ...

Re: Sexism in the city

A couple of ideas for you, but it might make the project too complicated for your purposes. 1) Pipeline of films even being considered for those awards - it's hard for either gender (any gender?) without a track record to make a film, really, but especially hard for those with less access to diverse...

And then there is always human error...

They have now written off 108 of the reported deaths due to a problem with double counting.

Unrelated, but if they're going to subpoena John Bolton, they have to subpoena Hope Hicks. Why? Oh come on :D ... https://i.4pcdn.org/pol/1519870931505.png       I have some news that will make both of you happy.   Hope Hicks expected to return to White House - CNN Feb 13 "Long seen as a stabilizin...

Here is a deep and comfortable recliner for all of you. I love that mahogany leather - so lustrous and inviting.  You can watch rugby, European football, American football, Wimbledon, even international chess tournaments from there. And you will be SAFE in its arms! https://images2.imgix.net/p4dbimg...

Re: Impending Birth - Not Being Present

I remember British actor Roy Kinnear dying. There’s a UK newspaper with a regular column by a quadriplegic ex rider. Not much fun to read. Riding seems to come with overconfidence. That’s not good. Maybe for some.  As with any sport, you have to understand your limits and assess  your current abili...

Where's Julian's rugby ball?
Haha! Talk about a dangerous, but noble sport!

Re: Impending Birth - Not Being Present

Driving does not meet the conditions for the CDT. Besides racehorse jockeys and Christopher Reeves (who survived a very bad fall in a Grand Prix jumping accident, but was paralyzed and did die younger than he might have otherwise), I don't know of any fatal celebrity riding accidents. Madonna broke...

Re: Impending Birth - Not Being Present

Riding is v dangerous. Badly fails my Celebrity Death Test. LOL - driving car is dangerous too. Anyway, I'm not trying to live forever and I have generally tended to avoid tempting but dangerous things like hang gliding, becoming a private pilot, and motorcycles (though I did get my motorcycle perm...

Re: Impending Birth - Not Being Present

Very cute! Still a little young for a pony of his own, I guess. If I had had children, ponies would have been at or near the top of the list (if requested). Kids, barns, and ponies are an excellent combination for several reasons.  Not the least of which is that mother gets to rest in relative peace...

Re: How good or bad are the pandemic warning models?

They say 135 of the new deaths are due to a new diagnosis classification. Whatever that means. Were they all on one day? Are they going to reclassify old deaths as well? If so, do we just multiply all previous numbers by 2.5, say?  "What is the new diagnosis method? The province now includes "clini...

Someone should refit the curves backward (hypothetically, of course) since the vertical spike is at least partly due to a change in the methodology of detection in one province (Hubei) in China.
