Re: trackstar's Needle Exchange

A small update on the fiber front... I made a funny little hat to match the white merino scarf.  And there is still enough yarn left over to make a fluffy "pom-pom" for the top.  Also, the lavender and blue alpaca shawl is shaping up slowly but surely. And I found a book on painting flowers today. :...

Re: trackstar's Needle Exchange

Well we are up north now and here is some fall inspiration for colors, textures, and freedom of spirit in general.

This is New Hampshire - many more trees than human beings! : )

(And we needed to use UTM coordinates to find the lodge. The moose know where to go though.

Spare a thought for the weavers when knitting in your 5th avenue penthouse www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwwWKIXVlGQ www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtY6mi0oS2w Haha - great tunes! But you know I am more of a rustic inn and tavern kind of girl myself. In fact heading to mountains soon with My wicked sister. :D B...

Re: trackstar's Needle Exchange

Another day, another skein!

First, here is the merino scarf from last night's knitting time.

And then the next selection - lavender, light gray, and pale blue alpaca for a shawl. Started this afternoon, but it will take a few days to finish this one.

Re: norway

What does Aromachampinjong mean in Norsk? It sounds like champignions, but I'm careful with the language of mischievous Vikings.
others would know better, but "aroma mushroom" to me suggests truffles.

If they are expensive (package, bottle?) - quite likely so.

Re: trackstar's Needle Exchange

And Exhibit 2 - almost want to leave this yarn just as it is - in a bowl on the table! ; )

but it will be a very nice scarf in a loose gauge - will go up to size 10 needles (bamboo for a little friction - this one is so fluffy!)

Enjoy your evenings!

Re: trackstar's Needle Exchange

The latest works (and after reading about European economics and finance all day - it's finally tea time!)

Exhibit 1 - finished now - another super wash hand-painted merino wool knit on size 8 needles (US).

Picture is a little too contrasty - it's prettier and more well-blended than that.

Re: Boris Johnson - the last 100 days

This doesn’t answer that question, but as an amusing aside... Last night I dreamed I was riding in a limousine with Angela Merkel. We were talking in German and she was adamant that we needed to do something absolutely “ungewöhnlich” in Brexit negotiations. It means unusual or unique. So we were sta...

and finally the first quilt! It's certainly not perfect, but it's generally good.  (A reflection of its creator, no doubt... : D) Over time, I plan to make some smaller "lap quilts" to give to people in nursing homes. I can't fix the US (or Brexit), but I can make elderly people happy with something...

One more and it might be time for me to launch a fiber arts wordpress blog rather than torture all of you with my weird little projects.  : D

But this came out quite nicely. Getting more precise.

Off to an island for the weekend I think - and some big storms coming too.

Re: why happiness is ultimate the goal ?

Here’s something to cheer you up - I was in a car accident recently.

No, not driving under any influence; some one was accelerating across lanes of traffic and rammed me.

I’m not dead yet though.

Is that an annoyingly happy attitude or what?
