Who else is doing a PhD right now?

Writing up my thesis and undergoing a few interviews in my field. Alternative option: a full year into advanced C++, self study. Can't understand what you're talking about, hope it is not applied science: your attitude is quite dangerous to the general public.

I'm pretty sure you all do not underestimate the power of a coin flip when needing an immediate "random" decision. Do you?

Extension of the Eurozone

Well the latest drama suggests euro may not survive. As a consequence, new entries should be postponed.

Celtics vs Lakers 2010

<t>After extensive battering in the regular season (and costly bets to me...grrrr...), Celtics went to the Finals. Guess the opponents? Lakers, you know.Let's have fun and play the latest chapter of this saga: Kobe Bryant or Paul Pierce? The team or the individuals? The system or the talent?Defense ...

UK and politics

<t>I feel you are missing a couple of macro points about UK:1- western countries cannot get rid of secular legislation (call it human rights, workers law, democracy or whatever), so every step dismantling will be met by revolts... see Greece today; the only way is to change the fundamentals, say go ...

Career advice for recent PhD

Hi, I've been tinkering around the same pool of opportunities during the last 3 months. As for my little experience with the players, I can confirm you need to sell (and show evidence of) the strong points you can deliver now, not in the future.

Why is this Greece situation bad for the Euro?

Yes my mistake, Norway and Denmark are not in the Euro. They are into Schengen free zone, so that their involvement in Europe is not so basic from a political point of view.

Why is this Greece situation bad for the Euro?

<t>The problem with Greece (and others) is that Eurozone works as a single market but from a political point of view they are neither United States nor a Confederation. So who's going to pay in the case one of the local Euro printing press starts piling out rubbish? Other States in the Union would n...
