Quant scene in Hong Kong

<t>Jump is an HFT shop pretty picky about C++, I heard? Would basic C++ knowledge, gleaned from a book like Accelerated C++, and a bit of practice implementing some numerical algorithms suffice at the interview stage? Anyone have any info on QuantEdge (SG) and Point72 (HK)? I am coming across quite ...

Quant scene in Hong Kong

Thanks everyone. This is very useful. Will these banks interview candidates located abroad? How much do these banks pay, and how much would one be left with at the end of the month (after taxes and living expenses for a family of 2)?

HFT in Python?

Anyone know of places that do HFT in Python? I remember seeing some job ads in the past to this effect, and also had a recruiter mention it to me. I am just really curious how they're doing it given that Python is supposed to be "slow".

<t>Thanks for your thoughts everyone. Your comments and suggestions are much appreciated. I have done multiple big data projects end to end, so that part is covered well. And that's partly a reason why I have been leaning more towards doing a bit of quant fin work as opposed to something like Kaggle...
