Re: Cuchulainn's Long Hall (aka The Infinite Corridor)

Oooof. Yeah, things have changed drastically since 1978. They recently caused a fervor with communities for wanting to build new dorms in certain areas. The same old stalactites and stalagmites came out to complain and knock every single thing. Forgetting their own university experience. :( Do you r...

Re: Good things that come out of this pandemic...

I got a centrally located, fairly priced apartment in Dubs out of COVID-19. Can't really complain about that.

I do have an issue with the social and work ramifications though. But that's just my normal complaint about everything. :) haha.

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

Ah well, my dad likes to call me the king of 'non-committal' answers. Thanks for the welcome though, as we have exchanged messages before a long long time ago (star wars theme playing) - my former tidbits were few and far between, but I did bet on farmer making me $30 at end of year (from a $10 spot...

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

Oh - if there was any doubt left, I was definitely trying to call you out personally.
Figured you'd take it that way, which is silly. But that's fine with me. :)

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

OK - you’re kind of new here. I don’t know what hole you slithered out of, but please go die in it!
No, not new here. Actually my first profile was on here before yours was. But I digress..

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

(JK, Trumpians that I know are very nice, with nice children.) Until you get under their skin. Do the children call you 'Sir' or is is just kids of the military? An elementary school teacher called me 'sir' once. I asked her why she had done that, as it was a bit offputting and weird given I was in...

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

Was the US Constitution set up with Oliver Cromwell in mind, i.e. worst case scenario? In a few words: no concentration of power in the hands of the few and an elaborate system of checks and balances. Who would have known that 2020 was the year in which the much availed 'system of checks and balanc...

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

Bearish - Even more socialist/communist leaning news sources have started to admit that there are discrepancies between the official line and what actually happened on January 6. There are photos, videos and other evidence which show that what happened wasn't incited by Trump.  Your 'incitement' tal...

Re: Cuchulainn's Long Hall (aka The Infinite Corridor)

He goes by Christy. Doesn't drink at all. I only know him by that name, nothing else. :D I'll have to see what happens whenever they decide to reopen bars etc.  It's been a pain to date.  Toner's and McGrattan's are pretty good. Relaxed once you get to know the bar staff.  I visited Doheny and Nesbi...

Re: Cuchulainn's Long Hall (aka The Infinite Corridor)

Welcome to my bunker. yes, I've been in TCD a few times. Lovely cricket pitch. Actually, there are 2 cathedrals in that vicinity, because we have a Catholic and a Protestant St. Patrick.. I'll have you know as fresher I swore an oath of allegiance to Queen Elizabeth I in the Long Haul. Dublin has g...

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

You cannot get a decent cup of tea in the US, that's the root of all this. Paul, it was long before our respective times but we had a little tea party way back when which caused all kinds of commotion. :)  I think tea is the least of our worries. ;)  You mean Sarah Palin et al? Nope. The original t...

Re: Cuchulainn's Long Hall (aka The Infinite Corridor)

The Medieval University of Dublin established 1320 (It didn't survive the Reformation) Everybody thinks Trinity College (1592) is the oldest https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medieval_University_of_Dublin I'll say it's safe to assume you've been in both the Trinner library (that's humor, not an insult)...

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

I don't believe that will happen.  Sounds like scare-mongering from people trying to save face due to the massive black eye they received on the 6th. I've seen the D.C. old bill in action first hand. I was standing in front of the Fed for a photo and a guy came out and yelled at me to shovel on.  Fo...

Re: Trump -- the last 100 days

Trackstar - as we know, bat aids can tell time and knows who to infect and who not to. :) No offense to bearish, just trying to be somewhat humorous. :)  Do we really want to waste even more tax dollars on cabling everything and whatever for Zoom, which will then die right at the beginning due to ma...
