Does Anyone Here Daytrade For a Living?

just because it's a real nerve-cracking thing. First, you have to be able to trade the US with absolutely no limit, and you have to stick to your screen all day long... come on, have a life

Does Anyone Here Daytrade For a Living?

Look at my resume and advise for my first job

<t>Same comment on the length: 1page is the limit for non-academic guys (unless you already are global head of quant somewhere, of course...)As for the profile, have you thought about consulting or trading software firms? They usually put a stonger gap between hard coding and modelling than banks (a...

FOREX High Frequency Data

<t>Have a look at Olsen's Introduction to high frequency finance, they have written one of the very few books on this, and heavily biased towards FX. Which city will get the 2012 Olympics?

<t>We are on the same side as for strikes, DCFC... I simply find it impressing that France manages to have the best productivity levels of the OECD while having so many hurdles (not only strikes but also very low level of activity for junior and senior people; almost all active people are between 25...

Which city will get the 2012 Olympics?

<t>Far from being a leftist, I would still have to disagree with DCFC on the strike thing: the demonstrations were far apart, the tube did not appear as much of an issue during the visit as they simply did not use them heavily on that day and the TUCs had held T-shirts stating their support for the ...

Which city will get the 2012 Olympics?

There are indeed such figures on betting sites, and some polls such as http://tinyurl.com/6tkr9. But since I only know of UK based chains, I was expecting some bias on this...

Which city will get the 2012 Olympics?

<t>As a matter of fact, I was betting on Madrid up to this week, but after the visit which apparently went really smoothly, I don't really know...Americas will already host the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver so, due to the continent rotation principle, that should be a minus for NYC. As for London, ...

Which city will get the 2012 Olympics?

The IOC just left Paris for Moscow, and already visited the two main other Wilmotting cities, London and NYC. Any bet on the winner, and on what grounds?

Graduate Programs

Indeed, Princeton is the name to choose there: their class size is so small that they can really place their alumni at top positions, plus there is the unrivalled brand name (and closer to NY for networking).

is the erdos number worth mentioning

such thing was discussed some time ago regarding belonging to Mensa or the like (Triple Nine is better of course ...). I would say no, even though you could keep it for some time of the discussion in the interview (or cover letter ?).

DEA or PHD

Depends on the names you put behind each and the location you are applying at. I would say bias towards French education in London, probably not quite the case in NY

off finance question

mmmmhhhh.... my poor kitty eyes must be getting old: I just can't seem to see at what point of the video evidence of this appears! Here, we are really talking as to when a fly does fly (in squares, as you know) and the second after is on the ceiling, its back towards the ground
