Vendors providing trading API's

May 31st, 2009, 11:57 am

Can someone suggest a broker which provides reliable .Net/WebService APIs for trading FX and Index futures ? Like a one stop shop for trading both FX and stocks (and may be commodities). I have been using Forex.com (Gain Capital) API's for trading FX but it does not offer other asset classes. Interactive Brokers do have forex but have a high minimum account balance requirements for trading FX and also they are Java based (don't like their COM interface). Just curious what kind of brokers/service providers do individual investors use for algorithmic trading and who don't want to pay top $$.

I suggest taking a look at:1) FXTrade at Oanda: http://fxtrade.oanda.com/forex_trading/ ... ing.shtml2) Saxo Bank: http://ae.saxobank.com/AE/EN/services/i ... l.aspOanda offers:1. 2 pip spread on majors2. 500:1 margin3. Seems limited slippage on market orders4. No trade rejections in fast market5. Interface for Java, C++, .NET and the FIX protocol. Saxo offers:1. Good spreads2. Autoexecute i.e. no deal intervension.3. Multi-product platform (FX, stocks, total return swaps, bonds)4. Member Danish Guarantee Fund for Investors (40K Euro cash + 20K assets)5. Add-on on the SaxoTrader platform which allows automation through system builder interface6. [Decent volumes] FIX ProtocolThere are some other comments I would like to make but not in public domain, if you contact me then can let you know details.
