Bloomberg and mathematica (on 64 bit)

July 25th, 2011, 7:28 am

Hi, I'm trying to get up to speed with bloomberg and mathematica. However, it turns out that the API does not work. it seems the COM typ api is 32 bit.I downloaded the v.3 api but can't find proper documentation to it. Before I could pull historical data from blpdatax.dll.On the new one there clearly is not a similar com-dll, or a com interface at all? Do you guys know of some docs or examples to this environment or mathematica on 64bit with bloomberg in general?

In case somebody else stumbles across this question in the future, check out the following: https://github.com/MichaelSternNYC This set of WSTP interfaces allows you to pull current and historical Bloomberg data directly into Mathematica. Wolfram has a solution too, but it's expensive. This one is free and includes C++ source code.
