my questioning grounds on the fact that finance handbooks, finance news etc ... reads 100 times more about the US than UK.as the topic is "peripheral" in my case i'd like to find out ready-to-eat tables :- UK gilts types - comparison to US treasuries- ???

well ..... maybe someone could tell me if my feel that no one seems to be interested in UK gilts is justified ?are there subtle tricks (for ex : proper characteristics) that make UK gilts less attractive to investors ?
