Facebook Messenger 'slims down' for old phones

the slimmer version is only 5% of the size of the regular version
This is a bugbear or mine. It's facebook this time, but microsoft is the main culprit. They make software unnecessarily large so that it kills resources on your machine and makes your machine freeze and crash.
If you can make a version that is 1/20th of the original, that say a lot about how badly the original was written

You poor guys; just refuse to use Microsoft software (e.g. Excel) and see how far that gets you. Sign a petition.
And upgrade that VC++ 6.0; it's Visual Studio 2015 these days.

Fuck you Microsoft for not allowing me to save my excel file today, for crashing my word document when I entered an equation today, for that shitty soft scroll that waste my time.

What a great first day.

I hope this project to eliminate excel from the organization and stabilize things finishes quickly.

I also hope that people who introduced excel as a modellling tool lose their car keys today. And drop their laptops in the toilets.

LOL!   Did you see that article on Slashdot a month or so ago on all the errors caused by Excel in scientific research?
The sooner Microsoft dies, the better!

Yes, about things like the Septine-2 gene (abbreviated as SEPT2) became 9-2-2016,... 20% of the papers have NA# etc.

Im going to return the "LOL" when you break down in a rant after your 2013 upgrade! I'm especially looking forward about your "soft scroll" encounter, it's like biking underwater. I'm feeling relieved already! And all those cool animations! If you try to punch in "42" it will go blublublu "4" woossh swirl "2"

For those who run windows 10, a handy script to clean things up:

"Reclaim Windows 10" turns off a bunch of unnecessary Windows 10 telemetery, removes bloatware, and privacy invasions.

Microsoft working on Cloud Shell, a lightweight Windows version for modern computing world
Some inititial feedback:

"Yay, Another product no one asked for or wanted."

"Cloud Shell is said to be connected, in some way, with the Windows Store and Universal Windows Platform app framework,.. Does anyone even use either of those?"

"2017, the year of The Cloud"

"Internet of things..."

Yes!
If only they focused on a productive, stable, user centric, consistent, desktop.
